The opening of every book is free — the first eight scenes, and you can start reading without signing up. After that each scene costs gems, which you buy. A scene is charged in two halves as you tap Continue: 10 gems a half early in a book, 15 through the middle, 30 from chapter twelve, and 35 for the last six scenes of any book. Some choices cost a further 15–30 gems on top, and always show the price first. Reading one book to an ending comes to roughly 1,500 gems, about $150 at US pack prices.
A scene you have unlocked is unlocked for good — re-reads and new devices included. The full breakdown is on the home page and in the Terms.
Gems we give you — the 20-gem welcome gift, streak rewards, promotions — expire 14 days after we grant them, and the date is shown on your wallet screen. Gems you bought never expire and are never swept. Gifted gems are spent first, so a purchased balance is the one that survives. If a purchased balance has gone missing, email us the receipt and we will put it back.
If you never added an email address, your library lived on an anonymous account tied to that install — and reinstalling starts a fresh one. Email us with your approximate purchase date and the Apple receipt, and we will find the account and move it across.
To prevent it next time: You tab → Secure your account. It takes one field and keeps everything.
Gems are credited by Apple's receipt, not by the app, so they survive a crash or a lost connection — reopen the app and they should appear. If they have not within a few minutes, email us the receipt and we will credit them by hand.
VIP is billed by Apple, so it is cancelled in your Apple account — we cannot cancel it for you, and neither can anyone else:
Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Libressa → Cancel Subscription.

Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep VIP until the period you already paid for ends. After that the weekly allowance of 7 Continues and the 20% pack bonus stop; scenes you unlocked stay unlocked, and gems you bought are never taken back.
Libressa+ gives you seven Continues a week — roughly three and a half scenes — plus 20% extra gems on every pack. The seven refresh every week. Past them, and for premium choices, you spend gems, and the bonus makes them stretch further.
Apple is the merchant for every purchase in Libressa, so refunds go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Tell us as well and we will support the request rather than contest it.
In the app: You → Delete account. It is immediate and it is real — progress, endings, unlocked scenes and gem balance are erased, not deactivated. Unspent gems are not refunded, so spend them first.
Two things survive, and we would rather say so than surprise you: a record that a purchase was made (tax law requires it, and it is what lets Apple process a refund months later) and a note that the account was deleted, so it cannot be re-credited with gems it already used. Neither contains anything you wrote or read.
